People of the Great Plains

People of Plains

The Great Plains of America stretches across 10 states south from the Canadian border to the Texas Panhandle, and west from the 98th meridian to the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. It was the home of the buffalo and the nomadic tribes that followed them; now ranchers and farmers supply us with our meat and wheat. The Plains people are hard working, moral people with goodness of heart. They are stubborn, resilient and, above all, they love the freedom found in the expanse of the land. This book is their story.
